IRIC Students Upgrade Knowledge On Middle East

A former Israeli Ambassador yesterday in Yaounde gave a public lecture at the school.

 

Students of International Relations Institute of Cameroon (IRIC) now have a better understanding of the Middle East. This follows a public lecture organized by the institute within the framework of its traditional “Diplomatic Forum”. The guest speaker at the event yesterday January 18, 2016 was the former Israeli Ambassador to France, Daniel Shek.

Ambassador Shek’s discourse did not only centre on “Knowledge of the Middle East” as the theme  indicated, but also gave the students hints on notions of modern diplomacy and what it takes to be a diplomat in the Information  and Communication Technology era. Diplomacy, the Israeli diplomat stated, is a field of humanities characterized by the sharing of ideas and linking people together.

  While stressing the importance of human relations, he pointed out that a good diplomat must have love and passion for his country.
