SOPECAM : Departments Present 2022 Action Plan

This was during the second day of the “Information Days” at the Cameroon News and Publishing Corporation yesterday February 9, 2022.

The determination by the General Manager of the Cameroon News and Publishing Corporation, SOPECAM, Marie-Claire Nnana to digitalise the operations of the enterprise was clearly made during the start of the 2022 “Information Days.” On February 8, 2022, the directors of different departments and heads of regional offices took time to present their plan of actions for 2022 in relation to the theme of the year which is “Digitalisation, Pillar of Resilience and Engine of Growth.” Day two events were chaired by the Deputy General Manager of the Cameroon News and Publishing Corporation, Dr Shey Peter Mabu.
The interim Managing Editor of Cameroon Tribune, Richard Kwang Kometa said this year focus is on prioritising digital information for Cameroon Tribune, Cameroon Insider and Cameroon Business Today via the websites www.cameroon-tribune.cm,
www.cameroonbusinesstoday.cm and www.camerooninsider.cm.

Besides ensuring an intensive coverage of important national and international events, Richard Kometa said the newspaper will develop new content and upgrade its sites, set up a digital newsroom to improve the digital visibility of Cameroon tribune, Cameroon Insider and Cameroon Business Today and also animate a digital platform. The Director of Production, Claude Igance Ozela said his department is going to work with the commercial service to produce an online cost of any production, samples of pre-production material before final production. He also announced the arrival of a digital printing machine next month.
The Director Delegate of SOPECAM Marketing and Communication Ibrahim Bekai said the digital phase is going to greatly help his department because the company has a website which they are not fully exploiting because of lack of expertise and manpower. He said although his department is aware of the many publicity slots that can take place on the site, at the moment they only sell banners for publicities.
