Fighting Drug Abuse, Violence In Schools

About 15-18 per cent school children consume drugs, according to a psychologist.

Violent incidents have in recent past erupted in some schools in Cameroon during which both teachers and students were killed. Sometimes it was sexual immorality by students on campuses, which the social media took advantage of to publicise.
These acts however did not go unnoticed to education authorities, who did not only denounce them but severely sanctioned those found guilty. Drug abuse was main among causes of these violent acts in the school milieu.
With this knowledge, the Youth Wing of Cameroon People's Democratic Movement (YCPDM) of Douala I Council rallied some youths of the municipality, within the context of the National Youth Day that was celebrated on February 11, 2022, to an educative talk at the Council's structure at Grand Moulin on Saturday, February 12, 2022.
