CAF Confederation Cup : Coton Sport Crumbles Before Mazembe

They were beaten 1-0 by the TP Mazembe of the DR Congo during their third group game yesterday February 27, 2022 in Lubumbashi.
Coton Sport of Garoua have ended the away leg of the CAF Confederation on a rather poor note. They were beaten 1-0 by the TP Mazembe of the DR Congo during their third game of the group phase of the CAF Confederation Cup yesterday February 27, 2022 in Lubumbashi. The game marked the end of the away leg in group C. TP Mazembe’s goal was scored by Glody Likonza after benefiting from a cross from Trésor Mputu at the 86th minute.
That was the first defeat for Coton Sport in three matches of the CAF Confederations Cup. The plan put in place by the coach before the encounter was to prevent the Congolese from scoring. The plan worked well but failed in the last minutes of the game. Coton Sport put up a strong resistance but could not hold it to the end. All efforts by Coton Sport to score were futile. From the victory TP Mazembe now has six points in three matches and is near qualification.
