World Expo 2030 : Saudi Arabia Solicits Cameroon’s Support

Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute received in audience a special envoy of the King of Saudi Arabia on March 8, 2022.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is bidding to host the World Expo 2030 in Riyadh, an exhibition organised every five years to display the latest developments in science and technology, culture and heritage and progress made in the environmental, social and economic sectors. To this effect, the Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute received in audience on behalf of the President of the Republic, a special envoy of the King of Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Bin Abdelaziz Kattan, during which he solicited Cameroon’s support to their candidacy. The candidature process will take place in five stages and will end with a vote in 2023. 
Speaking to the press at the end of the audience through an interpreter, Ahmed Bin Abdelaziz expressed his gratitude for being received by the Prime Minister and extended the salutations of the King of Saudi Arabia as well as his wishes of good health and prosperity to the President of the Republic and the Cameroonian people. “We also discussed on reinforcing and diversifying cooperation ties between Cameroon and Saudi Arabia. During the exchanges, the Prime Minister assured us of Cameroon’s support to the candidacy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the organisation of the World Exposition 2030. This signifies that solid relations unite our countries.  We expressed gratitude to the position taken by Cameroon, an indication of the fraternity of our relations,” he stated.
