Stop Malaria Campaign : Action Time Is Now

The Minister of Public Health, Malachie Manaouda officially launched the National Advocacy Campaign for the fight against malaria yesterday March 10, 2022.

“It is time for us all to act against malaria. We need to invest to stop malaria. Yes we can construct a country without malaria.” The Minister of Public Health Malachie Manaouda made the statements yesterday March 10, 2022 while launching the national advocacy campaign for the fight against malaria. The national advocacy campaign "Stop Malaria! Women and children at the heart of the fight" is an initiative of the First Lady of Cameroon, National Malaria matron. Hence, the campaign is taking place under the patronage of Mrs Chantal Biya.
Speaking in the presence of scores of national and international stakeholders in the fight against malaria in Cameroon, the Minister of Public Health said the campaign aims to promote actions that bring visibility in the fight against malaria. The campaign, he underscored, seeks to obtain the commitment and support of stakeholders at all levels to carry out activities in the fight against malaria in Cameroon. The approach, Minister Manaouda said, is in line with the public health policy inspired by the Head of State to eradicate pandemic diseases as well as ensuring that Cameroonians are in a good state of health. While acknowledging the commitments of everybody especially international partners in curbing malaria in Cameroon, Malachie Manaouda said the campaign will work towards bringing everybody onboard, mobilise resources against the pandemic, ensure preventive measures in eradicating the disease so that the most vulnerable groups will be protected.  
The Permanent Secretary at the National Committee for the Fight Against Malaria, Dr. Dorothy Achu presented the situation of malaria, strategies and challenges in its eradication.  Cameroon, she said, is among the 11 most affected countries in the world.
