Managing Public Funds : Female Mayors Fine-tune Skills

Minister Mbah Acha Rose chaired a training workshop to that effect on March 11, 2022.

As a mechanism to promoting good governance within Councils in Cameroon, female Mayors, State Inspectors and State Controllers have sharpened their skills as concerns best practices in handling State resources. This was during a training organised by the Supreme State Audit Office on March 11, 2022 under the theme, “The concept of mismanagement and liability in the management of Councils.” The training was presided at by the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of the Supreme State Audit Office, Mbah Acha Rose in the presence of the Minister of Women’s Empowerment and the Family, Marie-Thérèse Abena Ondoua and the Minister of Decentralisation and Local Development, Georges Elanga Obam. 
Encouraging the female local authorities to contribute to the development of their municipalities, Minister Mbah Acha Rose said the training seeks at equipping them with effective and dynamic management skills. State auditing, she stated, does not consider gender or ignorance, for the auditor works at questioning the actions of elected officials on public funds put at their disposal for several projects.  “We are training them so that they will be apt professionally. They are not only female mayors to be admired by the population but must do their work as the men will also do.
