Teachers Demands : Assurance For Basic Education Sector

The Secretary General at the Prime Minister’s Office, Séraphin Magloire Fouda on March 15, 2022 presided at a meeting with trade union leaders of the Basic Education Sector.

Trade union leaders of the Basic Education Section go back to the field today to tell their members that the money for debts government owed them related to the examination dues is available in all the regions. The case of the Mungo Division in the Littoral Region that witnessed some delay is being resolved as well as that of the East Region.
This is one of the key messages that came out of the meeting government and trade union leaders of the Basic Education Sector had at the Auditorium of the Prime Minister’s Office on March 15, 2022.  The payment of other debts such as advancements following the instructions of the presiding Secretary General at the Prime Minister’s Office, Séraphin Magloire Fouda  will be programmed in conjunction with Ministry of Finance. Part of it is  programmed  to be paid this year 2022. One of trade union leaders, Ojong Daniel, President of the National Trade Union for Basic Education Teachers of Cameroon (SYNAEEPCAM) expressed satisfaction with the deliberations of the meeting which he said was to set up a time table on how the debts will be paid. He stated that they were assured that advancements will be calculated and part will be paid this year beginning  this April 2022.
Basic Education Minister, Laurent Serge Etoundi Ngoa  explained  that the Ministry was paying old debts every year that span from 2010 to 2019. Some of the problems, he said, arose from the teachers recruited under the World Bank Programme, stating that since 2019 recruitm...
