Public Contracts : MPs Edified On Procurement Procedure

Minister Ibrahim Talba Malla explained the award and control of public contracts to members of the parliamentary network on decentralisation and local development on March 14, 2022.

The Minister Delegate to the Presidency in charge of Public Contracts, Ibrahim Talba Malla, has explained the award, control and sanction procedure of public contracts awarded for the socio-economic development of the country, to members of the parliamentary network on decentralisation and local development led by Hon. Nanga Mefant Berthe. This was during an audience the later granted the former on March 14, 2022. 
The lawmakers had solicited to exchange with the Minister on competences transferred within the framework of accelerating decentralisation in the award of public contracts, the realities in the field, what is being done to abandoned or delayed contracts and the tender procedure in troubled regions. As representative of the people, the MPs noted that they have observed that there is limited communication as concerns the public contracts award procedure and the population still complains about the process. It is thus against this backdrop that the five-man delegation met with the Minister in search of a partnership to better understand the general public contracts award and control procedure in order to well inform the population of their respective constituencies. 
In his explanation, Minister Ibrahim Talba Malla said public contracts are awarded in the most transparent manner and in accordance with the Public Contracts Code of 2018.
