National Assembly : Eight Bills Tabled In Plenary

The bills were tabled in the second plenary sitting following the one in which the nine General Committees of the House were set up.

The nine General Committees of the National Assembly for the just starting 2022 legislative year of Parliament have been set up, their bureau members elected and they are ready to enable the House play its role of voting laws.  Indeed, some of the Committees already have bills referred to them for substantive study.
After his re-election as the Speaker of the National Assembly during the plenary sitting of March, 18, 2022, Hon. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril on Monday, March 21, 2022 presided at the plenary sitting during which the House adopted the members of the nine General Committees. He read out the names of members of each Committee and they were adopted.
The nine General Committees include: Committee on Constitutional Laws, Human Rights and Freedoms, Legislation, Standing Orders and Administration; Committee on Finance and Budget; Foreign Affairs Committee; and Committee on National Defence and Security. The remaining committees are the Committee on Economic Affairs, Planning and Regional Development; Committee on Education, Vocational Training and Youths; Committee on Cultural, Social and Family Affairs, Committee on Production and Trade and finally the Committee on Resolutions and Petitions. Hon. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril on the heels of the adoption of the members of the various Committees also read out a programme they were to follow to immediately elect their bureau members who are a Chairperson, a Vice Chairperson and two Secretaries.
Bills Tabled
