Professional Mining Training : SONARA, Maroua University Partner For Efficiency

Training, internship and employment were underscored as functional areas for both institutions to exploit in agreement signed in Limbe on March 31, 2022.

The top management of the University of Maroua (Far North Region) led by its Rector Professor Idrissou Alioum was at the National Refining Company in Limbe (South West Region) on March 31, 2022, where both institutions entered a partnership to commonly and fruitfully explore areas of shared interest in the mining sector. The University of Maroua, created in 2008, runs a Faculty of Mines and Petroleum Industries (French acronym FMIP) since 2017. Their trainees, who graduate in related fields of Mining, Petroleum and Gas Economics, Management, as well as Law and Legislation, are surely ripe manpower for SONARA that essentially operates with mining products. While Jean-Paul Simo Njonou, General Manager, signed for SONARA, Professor Idrissou Alium, Rector, scrutinized and signed for the University of Maroua. Both personalities filed their contracting documents indicative of hey days ahead for mining and petroleum students of the University of Maroua whose first batch is expected on the field any time soon.
On welcoming the visitors from Maroua, the General Manager, Jean-Paul Njonou, expressed delight that their partnership would optimize human and professional skills. He rejoiced that SONARA would take advantage of the agreement by taping from the research results carried out within the University. The agreement equally opens up opportunities for remunerated internships, academic refinement and clear opportunities for students to discover the realities of the field.
