Africa Zone Three Boxing Championship : Cameroon Grabs Five Gold Medals

Some 123 boxers from six countries took part in the competition that ended on April 10, 2022 in Kinshasa.

The 2022 edition of the African Zone Three Boxing Championship rounded off in Kinshasa, DR Congo on April 10, 2022. Organised by the African Boxing Federation the competition brought together 123 boxers from six countries in zone three. They are DR Congo, Kenya, Cameroon, Mauritius Islands, Congo and Equatorial Guinea. Cameroon was represented in the competition by seven athletes (six men and one woman). The Cameroonian representatives put up a brilliant performance in the competition and have since returned to the country. 
After one week of intense competition the Cameroonian flag bearers finished bagged home seven gold medals; one gold, one silver and one bronze.  The gold medals were won by Onana Ngah (67kg), Yegnong Maxime (+92) Sangue Alain, Fotouo Junior (80kg) and Esiane Clotilde (70kg) . Mengue Ayissi Albert (71kg) won silver and Oumarou Mohamed (63kg) won bronze. In the overall classification Cameroon finished on the third spot behind DR Congo with 38 medals; 13 gold, 13 silver and 12 bronze.
