North West PIC : Progress Report Recommends Enhancement Of Credibility

Preparedness to serve expectant North West population stressed in first statement of activities.

The first progress report of the Public Independent Conciliator (PIC) for the North West Region, Simon Tamfu has unveiled an ambitious programme to reach out to the remote areas of the region with information and education on its frontline role to amicably settle disputes between users, regional, city and local council authorities. The Pioneer Public Independent Conciliator who took office on July 8, 2021 has published his first statement of activities. The report revisits the official launching of PIC activities, an event which permitted the PIC to achieve information with major stakeholders and also present the role and duties of the institution in the region. 
The PIC, Tamfu Simon told Cameroon Tribune on April 14, 2022 that his office had as at December 31, 2021 received over two dozen complaints. Among them, 80 per cent are related to land issues, chieftaincy and work associated matters which fall within the competence of administrative and judicial institutions.
