15th World Malaria Day : Sensitization Campaigns Ongoing

Some journalists in Yaounde were informed on the new stakes in the fight against malaria during a meeting yesterday, April 19, 2022.

Ahead of the 15th World Malaria Day, actors involved in the fight against the disease are organizing sensitization campaigns and roundtable discussions to educate the population on the need to use the tools available to curb malaria within communities. Some pressmen in Yaounde yesterday April 19, 2022 had an information meeting with the staff of the National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP), during which they were informed on the different activities which will be organised to grace this year’s Malaria Day. Presiding at the meeting was the Permanent Secretary of the National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP), Dr Dorothy Ashu. 
Dr Dorothy Ashu said the message to commemorate the World Malaria Day is in line with the theme of the day which are “Harness innovation to reduce the malaria disease burden and save lives” and “Advance Equity, Build Resilience End Malaria.” Dr Dorothy Ashu said Cameroonians cannot continue to do the same things while expecting new results. She called on Cameroonians to be open to new tools which will be added to curb malaria in the country. She urged those who are not yet using the existing tools such as bed nets and preventive malaria treatment for pregnant women should start using them to prevent malaria cases within household...
