West Region : UN Mission Meets Sultan of Foumban

The United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Cameroon, Matthias Naab, has promised the Sultan of Bamoum, Mbombo Njoya Nabil, that intervention in community development projects to maximize socio-economic benefits for the population of Noun Division in the West Region, will be top on UN development integration approach.  He assured the Sultan and the Bamoum people that the various UN agencies, and working groups on development and humanitarian aid in Cameroon who accompanied him on the official visit will set out strategic plans that will foresee the wellbeing of the population. Mr. Matthias Naab, gave the assurance in Foumban during a two-day official visit to the sultan of Bamoum, that lasted from 22-23, April,2022.
During discussions that centred on cooperation ties between the Sultanate and the UN mission, emphasis was laid on, socio-economic and cultural development, with specific concern on education, women empowerment, youth employment and promotion of the Bamoum rich cultural heritage, that has become a strong liaison in the promotion and development of world cultural cooperation.
