Buea South : West Youth Engage To Promote peace

In their first ever conference, they pledged to promote peace and strive for a return to normalcy in the region.

South West youth in their first ever conference that held in Buea on May 7, 2022, have taken stock of the security situation in the region and said they stand for peace and development. Over 200 of them drawn from all the six administrative units that make up the region, and all dressed in their traditional regalia, debated on getting their region developed. The many speakers who took to the rostrum supported and pressed for the fast and efficient implementation of the Presidential Reconstruction Plan, with the youth fully involved. They also called on their brethren to register massively on ELECAM’s lists so as to effect any needed change only through the ballot box. The youth were committed in promoting peace in the region and strive for a return of normalcy.
In the All South West Youth resolutions, they requested that they be provided with land in all the six divisions of the South West Region for agriculture. This, they argue will go a long way to create employment and also tackle food insecurity in the region and nation at large.  They demanded that there should be a bi-annual economic expo where youth of the region can attract veritable investors for their businesses.
