International Relations : Cameroon, EU Commemorate Ties

External Relations Minister, Mbella Mbella on May 6, 2022 participated at the ceremony marking the foundation for the European Union.

The Minister of External Relations, Mbella Mbella on May 6, 2022 took part in a commemorative event in Yaounde to mark the historic May 9 Schuman Declaration that laid the foundation for the European, which today is a friendly partner of Cameroon in bilateral and multilateral cooperation. Minister Mbella Mbella co-chaired the event with the Ambassador, Head of Delegation of the European Union to Cameroon, Philippe Van Damme, in the presence of the visiting Vice President of the European Investment Bank, Thomas Ostros, the diplomatic corps led by its Dean, Paul Patrick Biffot (Gabonese Ambassador to Cameroon), members of government, Parliamentarians and representatives of civil society organisations. 
A keynote by Minister Mbella Mbella paid homage to the longstanding and fruitful cooperation ties between Cameroon and the European Union, which have recently been in the spotlight following the official visit of the abovementioned Vice President to Cameroon.
Achievements registered as a result of the positive bilateral relations were celebrated during the event. Cameroon and the European Union have a wide range of cooperation domains with a structured political dialogue that both parties hold regularly in Yaounde.
