Cameroon-United States : Talks On Health, Security Cooperation

Minister Felix Mbayu received Ambassador Christopher John Lamora on May 17, 2022.

Continuity and consistency in health, security and humanitarian cooperation between Cameroon and the United States have been discussed between the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu and the United States Ambassador to Cameroon, Christopher John Lamora. This was during an audience the latter granted the former on May 17, 2022.
Ambassador Christopher John Lamora said the United States was more concerned in ensuring consistency and continuity in the aforementioned areas of cooperation. “Health is certainly a major priority of the US government and I think we partner very well with the Cameroonian government in Covid-19, HIV/AIDS, malaria and other things. We are proud of our security cooperation with Cameroon particularly in maritime security and we want to continue working with Cameroon in combatting terrorism,” he stated, adding that he had a very good conversation with Minister Felix Mbayu.
On humanitarian cooperation, the US Ambassador said they focus on refugees, and appreciated the Regional Ministerial Conference on Solutions to Forced Displacements due to the crisis in the Central African Republic (CAR) held in Yaounde from April 25 to 27, 2022. “...
