Limbe : 297 Knighted At Fervent Unitary Day

The mobilization was massive and enthusiastic in the Fako Divisional headquarters with various social groups jamming the ceremonial ground to mark this year’s 50th unitary Day.

The population of Limbe, headquarters of Fako Division, displayed enthusiasm and commitment to national unity as they turned out en masse to mark Cameroon’s 50th year as a unitary state last 20 May, 2022.
As part of activities of the Day, some 297 military and civilian personalities were decorated with various state medals denoting valour, merit, honour, and Labour for deserving recipients. The State distinctions were conferred on recipients with Fako Senior Divisional Officer (SDO), Emmanuel Engamba Ledoux, affixing the first medals at the Limbe Manga Williams Street ceremonial ground. Other authorities assisted the SDO to put medals on the deserving recipients to open 20 May commemorative activities that lasted for some one hour and thirty minutes in Limbe. Flanked by the Divisional Officers for Limbe I, II and III Sub-Divisions, the SDO for Fako watched and cheered valiant students, professional groups and participating political parties as they march past in a show of deep attachment to national unity.
The celebrations began at 11 am with the SDO affixing the medals on the chests of deserving recipients including the Mayor of Limbe Two Council, Chief Daniel Ngale Woka, who received the Officer of the National Order of Valour. Mayor Chief Woka, in a reaction to the press, expressed delight for "the wonderful recognition". “I was called a few days before and informed about my award, which is one of the highest distinctions of the land”, he said.
Among the happy recipients were over a dozen Military Officers of the Rapid Intervention battalion (BIR) who bagged the Merit of the Cameroon Forces medals. Various Administrative authorities assisted the SDO to affix the medals on recipients. Labour meda...
