FENASSCO B Games : Race For Medals Intensifies

Two days into the competition, the duel for distinctions is rife as each region is determined to take home fame and glory.

The 15th edition of the national FENASSCO B Games is underway in Yaounde. Two days into the competition, the race for distinctions is rife. Close to 1,500 athletes and coaches are vying for medals in 11 sports disciplines. The games are unfolding under the theme, “A healthy and safe environment for school sports without COVID-19”.  
At the INJS campus yesterday June 21, 2022, competitions were going on in the different workshops. In table tennis, the audience watched with enthusiasm young children showcase their talents in the sports discipline. The Vice President of the sub commission for table tennis Mekarides Mohaman said the competition began yesterday with the quarterfinals in the men and women doubles. He said for the FENASSCO B Games, the competitions are single men, single women, double men and double women. He explained that for the doubles competition the knockout format has been chosen. The coach for the South West Region, Ndumbe Courage said the South West Region prepared hard for this year’s competition. He said the ambition is to go back home with many gold medals. The singles men’s and women’s competitions will take place today June 22, 2022 and the finals will take place on Friday, June 24, 2022. At press time yesterday the semi-final matches were still going on.
