Agricultural Development : Cameroon To Host Sub Regional Forum

Cameroon will in the month of October host the policy forum on agricultural and rural finance. It will be co-organised by the government of Cameroon and the International Fund for Agricultural Development, IFAD, an agency of the United Nations. As part of preparations prior to the high level meeting, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu, on July 14, 2022, received in audience the Director of the Sub Regional Office and Resident Representative of the International Fund for Agricultural Development for Central Africa in Cameroon, Emime Ndihokubwayo. 
In her statement to the press, the Resident Representative of IFAD said they are in cooperation with Cameroon and the audience was an opportunity of again appreciating the good cooperation they have with the government of Cameroon. “But also informing him of a policy forum that is being co-organised by the government of Cameroon and IFAD on rural finance. We are preparing this forum for October and it will be involving participation from different countries, various set of organisations, policy makers, banks, insurance and practitioners. We are here to inform him and get guidance on how to receive these guests in this beautiful country,” she explained. Director Emime Ndihokubwago added that the forum will look at how to put in place proper public policies and regulations that will ensure that farmers have access to rural finance.
