Athletics Cup of Cameroon : FAP, INJS Lift Trophies

The sixth edition of the competition and the 60th edition of the national championship took place at in Yaounde recently.


FAP Athletics Club (men) and INJS Athletics Club (women) are the winners of the sixth edition of the Cup of Cameroon. This is the outcome of the sixth edition of the National Inter Clubs Athletics championship and the 60th edition of the national athletics championship that took place at the Yaoundé Omnisporst Stadium recently. Organised by the Cameroon Athletes Federation (FECAATH), the competition brought together athletes from across the country. The competition was equally an opportunity to detect young talents. 
It was a rather tough battle between FAP Athletics club and arch rivals, INJS who narrowly missed top seat in this year’s Cup of Cameroon competition.  After two days of stiff competition, FAP emerged overall winners in the men’s category with 18 medals; five gold, four silver and nine bronze. INJS was second with 10 medals; five gold, three silver and two bronze and AIA was third with nine medals; two gold, four silver and three bronze. In the women’s competition, INJS was first with 15 medals; seven gold, five silver and three bronze. They were followed by AIA with eight medals; two gold, three silver and three bronze and FAP with six medals; two gold, two silver and two bronze. The athletes put up remarkable performances in the competition.  
Vice African champion, Emmanuel Eseme Alobwede (BESTA) won the 200m race in 50.2. In the women’s 200m, Angounou Linda finished the race in 23.87. Emmanuel Eseme was designated the best athlete in the men’s competition. He broke his personal best performance for this season in the 100m and 200m events. In the women’s category...
