This was during the council session that took place On August 10, 2022.

Councillors of the Douala I municipality have evaluated the mid-term budget execution. This was during a council session that took place on August 10. Councillors also deliberated on the budgetary orientation. It emerged from the session that the execution rate of the budget as of July 31st 2022 stood at 41.72% as against 55.84% same time last year. The budget for the council stands at FCFA 3.5 billion and as of July 31, the sum of CFA 1.49 billion had been registered as revenue.
As explained by the Mayor of the Douala I council, Jean Jacques Lengue Malapa, the above figures can be justified by the fact that the council like many other services is recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic. He said they used the council session to also restructure their budget so as to meet up with the challenges. Jean Jacque Lengue Malapa holds that the new budget structure will ameliorate their action and ensure a more realistic and performant budget.  He remained optimistic that the next half of the year will be more productive.
Following the incorporation of an envelope of CFA 455.08 million under the general operating allowance, the Mayor went further to explain that the budget was restructured and has increased to CFA 3.88 billion. The above budget is all geared towards the improvement of the livelihood of the population...
