Centre Region: CERAC Revamps Mfou District Hospital

The caravan of the First Lady’s humanitarian association also donated gifts to rural women, youths and the vulnerable of the locality

In the Circle of Friends of Cameroon’s (CERAC) philosophy is that hospitals are the most worthy environment for the expression of humanism, solidarity, compassion and self-sacrifice, for the benefit of the needy, the suffering and those in search of solutions for health and life related issues. This is why yesterday, February 1, 2017, in the capacity of personal representative of Mrs Chantal Biya, spouse of the President of the Republic, Founding President of CERAC, Mrs Linda Yang, General Coordinator of CERAC, presided at the ceremony for the official handing-over of the Mfou District Hospital, renovated and equipped by CERAC, and the donation of gifts to rural women, youths and vulnerable persons of Mefou and Afamba Division, in the Centre Region.
The Director of the Mfou District Hospital, Georges Ottou Awa, said CERAC came at the appointed time, when the hospital was in dire need of a complete face-lift as well as a state-of-the art technical medical board. “Before the arrival of CERAC, Mfou district hospital was described as an archaic building with obsolete technical board”, Dr Georges Awa explained. But CERAC’s touch at the locality has given the hospital a complete new-look as the entire medical building was revamped with water catchment and new medical equipped donated for all the units.
