Busy Weekend For Lions’ Opponents

As Cameroon faced Uzbekistan, so did Brazil, Serbia and Switzerland play matches to assess their strengths ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The 2022 FIFA World is fast approaching and qualified teams are on their heels to improve their performance in the global football showpiece. Just like the Lions all the teams began testing their strengths with friendlies in the September FIFA window. Their opponents at the World Cup were equally on different fronts. Cameroon is pooled in Group G alongside Serbia, Brazil and Switzerland. During their first friendly match against Uzbekistan that took place on September 23, 2022, the Indomitable Lions were beaten 2-0 in South Korea.
In the same vein Brazil played against Ghana on same day at the Océane Stadium, Le Havre-France. The game that enabled both sides to have a fair knowledge of the calibre of opponents they will be meeting at the global showpiece and assess their strength. The five-time World Champions, Brazil boasts several players plying their trade in Europe including Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar Junior, Real Madrid duo, Vinicuis Jr. and Rodrygo, amongst others. Playing against this quality of players will be very advantageous for the Black Stars that have won the Africa Cup of Nations four times.
