Sports Grandiose : End Of 2022 Season

Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute on behalf of the Head of State, President Paul Biya presided at the closing ceremony on October 2, 2022.
The 2022 sports season in Cameroon ended on Sunday, October 2, 2022 in a memorable and grandiose style with the Coton Sport of Garoua winning the final of the football Cup of Cameroon for the seventh time.
The Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute presided at the massively attended closing ceremony of the sports season at the Yaounde Omnisport Stadium on behalf of the Head of State, President Paul Biya. He arrived at the stadium at 2: pm and was welcomed as he alighted from his limousine by the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Professor Narcisse Mouelle Kombi. After this, he inspected a guard of honour that was comprised of detachments of the National Gendarmerie, Infantry, Air Force, Navy, Firefighting Brigade and the Police. This was to the rhythm of music produced by the Military Band.
The Head of State’s representative after the military honours was presented officials of the teams that had won in the various sports disciplines, players and officials of Coton Sport of Garoua and Bamboutos FC of Mbouda that played the final of the football Cup of Cameroon, officials of the various teams and the match officials.
Prime Minister Dion Ngute and other dignitaries after the solemn welcome rituals, watched the cultural parade in which was exhibited Cameroon’s cultural diversity. In the attires and the various dance steps, one could within minutes and on the venue enjoy the wealth of Cameroon’s four cultural zones that are Sawa, Beti-Bulu-Fang, Grassfield and Sudano-sahel. The displays matched with the celebration theme, “Sports excellence, bedrock of living together and social progress for a united, indivisible and prosperous Cameroon.”
