Kolofata : Nation Recognises Services Of Amadou Ali

A funeral in honour of the departed former Vice Prime Minister with the Head of State represented by the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence took place on October 4, 2022.
The services of Senior Civil Administrator, former Vice Prime Minister, Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Relations with the Assemblies, Amadou Ali who died on September 27, 2022, and was buried the following day, September 28, 2022 in his native Kolofata, Mayo Sava Division of the Far North Region in conformity with Muslim tradition have been recognised. A funeral to pay tribute to the late Statesman was organised on October 4, 2022 with the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Joseph Beti Assomo representing the Head of State at the event in Kolofata. The funeral was in recognition of Amadou Ali’s patriotic and committed services to the nation starting from territorial command in divisions, to the national level having serviced as Minister of State, Minister of Justice, Minister Delegate in charge of Defence, Minister, Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic among others. Amadou Ali will also forever be remembered for his fundamental role as Cameroon’s representative in the Cameroon-Nigeria Mixed Commission put in place to oversee the implementation of the ruling of the International Court of Justice of October 10, 2002 on the boundary dispute between the two countries. He played that role until his death.
The Head of State in the condolence message on October 3, 2022 read during the funeral ceremony by the Senior Divisional Officer of Mayo Sava, Traffo Roger said the death of Amadou Ali was a big loss to Cameroon.
