Closing Ceremony In Sound, Colour

Thousands of visitors, football lovers and invitees witnessed the closing ceremony in Libreville yesterday February 5, 2017.

Curtains were drawn at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations Gabon yesterday February 5, 2017 at the Stade de L’Amitié Sino-Gabonese in Angonjé, Libreville.  The 2017 closing ceremony of the Total Africa Cup of Nations Gabon 2017 had two symbolic acts celebrating Africa and the continent’s unity while paying tribute to competition. The first act showed a united Africa committed in its fight against cancer and particularly the one that strikes women. It was also part of activities to commemorate the World Cancer Day on February 4, 2017. Five of the most beautiful voices of the continent- Josey, Charlotte Dipanda, Pamela Badjogo, Rokia Traore and Coumba Gwalo performed on stage to express their engagements against cancer.
Coumber Gwalo wrote a special song to show Africa’s commitment to this cause “Pour nos seours et pour nos mères” which was sung for the first time by the Divas: Coumber Gwalo, Charlotte Dipanda, Josey and Pamela Badjogo. The performers recreated the heart of a united Africa that beats to the rhythm of the music.
