Yaounde : Bamendakwe Fon Communes With Indigenes

A grandiose ceremony was organised at the esplanade of the Yaounde VI Council on November 13, 2022 to honour Fon Forchesiri III’s maiden visit to the capital city.

The esplanade of the Yaounde VI Council was host to several sons and daughters of Bamendakwe, Bamenda I Subdivision of the North West region; who left the nooks and crannies of Yaounde to commune with their Fon. Fon Forchesiri III was in his maiden visit to the nation’s capital since his enthronement as Fon in September 2020. 
With music and dance highlighting the cultures and traditions of the people, the Fon was ushered to his seat and with the same music and dance, the Fon was entertained, alongside his guests. Amongst the host of dignified guests, were several Fon’s including Fon Isaac Chafah of Bangolan, who doubles as the Secretary General of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Cameroon. 
The message of Fon Forchesiri III to his people was principally on peace and development.  He called on his indigenes residing in the political capital to continue contributing to developmental projects back home and to continue to live in peace with their host community. The Traditional ruler as well urged his Yaounde-based subjects to continuously remain attached to their customs and traditions and to uphold them wherever they go.  
“We hold the tradition very close to our hearts because it is a common unifier for us sons and daughters of Bamendakwe. In this forum, we are struggling to see how we can put our voices together as a community towards the path of peace, solidarity, unity and love,” the Fon said before calling on the people to protect ...
