Metro Man : Riding On World Cup Luck

The young Kenyan traffic control man has been one of the side attractions of the tournament for his ability to do his job effortlessly while giving pleasure to the public.

“Metro…? this way! Metro…? this way! Metrooooooo? this wayyyyy!”. The slogan has become almost like a song for the millions of fans who have turned up to watch the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Sat on a mini gantry with a loud speaker, he guides the fans in varying and entertaining tones to the metro station at a point which his junction has become a big attraction. Fans later captured videos of him and posted online which went viral forcing many other metro staff to spice up their job with some fun and thus putting smiles on the faces of World Cup fans. Even the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (official hosts of Qatar World Cup) could not be indifferent to this sensation and made Abubakr Abbas a guest of honour at the group stage clash between England and the United States of America.
Abubakr arrived in Qatar on October 28 by a stroke of luck after he submitted his files to work as a security agent in Qatar just at the nick of time. ...
