Indomitable Lions Commune With Population

The 2017 African champions and the population have opened a new page in their love story following their victorious exploit in Gabon.
It was a hot sunny day in Yaounde, yesterday February 8. The entire nation’s capital stood on its feet in an ovation as the National football team, the Indomitable Lions paraded the streets of the city with the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations trophy. The euphoria was in its apex along the itinerary of the Lions who drove in open-back military and police jeeps across the seven subdivisions that constitute the capital city for over three hours. Captain Benjamin Moukandjo paired with Nicolas Nkoulou in the jeep brandished the trophy of the 31st Africa Cup of Nations, won following their 2-1 win over the Pharaohs of Egypt last Sunday February 5, in Libreville, Gabon.
From Carrefour Mballa which was the starting point after their reception at the Unity Palace by the Presidential couple, through Carrefour Bastos, Nlongkak Round-about, Omnisport to Kondengui, Ekounou, Mvan, Nsam, Shell Nsimeyong, Rond-point Express, Accacia, Carrefour Biyem-assi, Carrefour Obili, CRADAT, Carrefour EMIA, Carrefour Tsimi, Mokolo Central Post Office etc, the population turned out en masse irrespective of age and social status to hail their heroes. In fact, every other activity was halted in each neighbourhood the caravan passed. School kids, shop keepers, petit traders all came out clapping, singing and even calling names of their favourite players as the Lions passed by. The jeeps carrying the 2017 AFCON heroes were labelled with the names of the players or the technical staff...
