Fight Against Terrorism : Saudi Arabia Reaffirms Support

Minister Felix Mbayu received in audience on December 12, 2022, a delegation led by General Ahmed Abdullah Altuagri of the Saudis Ministry of Defence.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has reaffirmed its determination in support of Cameroon managing its security challenges.  This was during an audience the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu, accorded a Saudis delegation led by General Ahmed Abdullah Altuagri of the Ministry of Defence of Saudi Arabia on December 12, 2022. They are in Cameroon to strengthen cooperation in various domains notably security and particularly in the fight against terrorism. They were accompanied by the Chargé d’Affaires a.i of their Embassy, Abdulrahman Ibrahim Alzaben.
Speaking through an interpreter, General Ahmed Abdullah Altuagri said they are in Cameroon to have a better appreciation of the humanitarian situation/needs of Cameroon for apt partnership. He added that they are ready to collaborate with Cameroon in fighting terrorism and eradicating extremism ideas from the minds of some citizens. 
Presenting the actual situation of the country to the delegation, Minister Felix Mbayu said Cameroon at the moment faces security challenges at three main fronts; Boko Haram insurgencies in the Far North (external) and the socio-political tensions in the North West and South West Regions of the country (internal).
