Bamenda : Archbishop Inaugurates Akum Faith Revival Grotto

His Grace, Andrew Nkea on December 11, 2022 blessed Divine Mercy Grotto in Akum, erected in honour of the woman of faith, Justine Shilem Bongwa.

The event was a Pastoral visit to St. Pius X Parish Akum, when His Grace, Archbishop Fuanya Andrew Nkea inaugurated the Divine Mercy Grotto erected in honour of the late woman of faith; Justine Shilem Bongwa whose Christian values spanned from April 1934-28th August 2019.  The uniqueness of the grotto was summed up by His Grace, the Archbishop who said the facility is “a beautiful place of prayer to preserve the patrimony of St. Pius X Parish Akum.”
The Minister of the Church wished that prayers bounce from the Grotto to follow and protect Caroline Bi Bongwa and Dr. Stella Bongwa Zekeng who are to thank for funding it as a place of peace in memory of their mother whose life was entrusted in God’s plan. It is also the wish of the Parish Priest; Fr. Anthony Viban that the grotto becomes a real place of encounter with the good and merciful Lord in the lives of those who come to pray there.  The clocks stroke 9.30 am when the Divine Mercy grotto received the blessings of Archbishop Andrew Nkea and His Lordship, George Nkuo, Bishop of Kumbo with Pope Francis reigning as the Pontiff on the day of the Sabbath, December 11, 2022.
The Divine Mercy grotto is planted over the remains of a sacred altar built in 1959 in preparation for the erection of St. Pius X Parish, Akum on January...
