Parliamentary Affairs : Cameroon, Gabonese Executive Acquire New Skills

Senior Deputy Speaker, Hon. Hilarion Etong presided at the international capacity building workshop on December 13, 2022.

Some fifty Parliamentary officials from the Cameroonian and Gabonese Parliaments have updated their knowledge in administrative techniques for a more efficient and effective output. Comprising Parliamentarians (Members of the National Assembly and Senators), as well as staff of the two institutions, they were meeting in a four-day international seminar on December 13, 2022 to exchange best practices on parliamentary administration. Deliberations were presided at by the Senior Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Hilarion Etong, who is equally the President of the Cameroonian Section of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie (APF), on behalf of the House Speaker. 
Organised on the initiative of APF, Senghor University of Alexandria and the National Assembly of Cameroon, the workshop which ends on December 16, 2022 has the objective of improving the intellectual capacity of persons who are involved in the decision process of making the lives of the population better.
Opening the training, the Senior Deputy Speak of the National Assembly said parliamentary affairs evolve with time and it is therefore imperative for stakeholders to share exchanges and collaboration mechanisms to the benefit of Francophone Africa. He added that the National Assembly of Cameroon is participating in the training within the framework of enhancing parliamentary cooperation with the Francophonie and inculcate in its executive principles of democracy that are reflective of the institution.
