Student’s Accident in Limbe: Victim Successfully Operated Upon

The Minister of Public Health, hereby informs the general public that, Miss Therese Bakop, aged 19 years, a form five student of the Nguea Lottin secondary school in Limbe, who suffered a serious fall from the second floor in her school on 16 January 2017, was successfully operated upon on 2 February 2017 at the Douala Laquintinie Hospital by a team led by Professor Djientcheu of the Yaounde Central Hospital, assisted by Dr Fondop of the Laquintinie Hospital.
Following this fall, the young student sustained cervical spine injuries, with intense neck pain and right-sided hemiparesis.
The Minister of Public Health congratulates the Cameroonian team of neurosurgeons on their professionalism.
The patient continues to receive free medical care at the Laquintinie Hospital.
