Illicit Drugs Destroyed In Bafoussam

This took place on 8, December, 2022 and, was supervised by the President of the regional committee for the fight against illicit drugs, Governor Awa Fonka.

Some illicit drugs worth over 20millions FCFA and an important stock of Indian hemp have been destroyed in Bafoussam by the West regional commission for the fight against illicit drugs and contraband.  The destruction that took place some two kilometers on the outskirts of Bafoussam town, was supervised by Governor Awa Fonka  Augustine, President of the regional commission for the fight against illicit drugs and contraband.
According to Governor Awa Fonka, the illicit drugs and Indian hemps were intercepted by the competent services of the forces of law and order, health experts and customs officials. He promised the fight will continue in the region with arrests and sanctions of suspected persons.
For his part, the Regional Delegate of Public Health for the West region, Dr.Chimnoun   Dairida, said  most quantity of the drugs seized  are being imported from neighboring countries, and another consignment seized from health personnel who buy them from street vendors and sell them in hospital, adding that during special   routine controls in hospitals, culprits are cau...
