Ministry of Justice : Magazine Captures Activities

Known as “Justitia,” 100-page bilingual document presents actions and strides in enhancing justice in Cameroon.

The latest edition of the news magazine of the Ministry of Justice of Cameroon has been published. Dubbed “Justitia,” it is a 100-page coloured document that brings to the limelight activities of the ministry in the course of 2022. It opens with a bilingual editorial from the Minister of State, Minister of Justice and, Keeper of the Seals, Laurent Esso titled “In absolute independence.” In essence, the editorial presents the various challenges the public service of justice in Cameroon faces on a daily basis, and response mechanisms put in place. Nepotism, corruption attempts, insults, defamation, false report, propagation of fake news, slander and the breach of privacy, are some of the challenges highlighted in the editorial of the Minister of State. He adds that for the purpose of seeking and restoring truth, and in view to proper administration of justice, the personnel of the public service of justice remain respectful of the legal order in which they operate. It concludes by stressing on the independence of the justice system. “I urge everyone to continue, with serenity, abnegation, loyalty, fairness, probity, speed and competence, to ensure that the law is applied in accordance with the expectations of lawmakers, litigants and the people of Cameroon, in whose name justice is rendered throughout the national territory…in absolute independence,” reads the concluding phrase of the editorial.
