CERAC : 40 Humanitarian Activities Earmarked For 2023

The association’s action plan was endorsed during its 29th General Assembly on January 13, 2023 in the presence of Founder, First Lady, Chantal Biya.

Cameroon’s First Lady, Chantal Biya’s, non-profit association, the Circle of Friends of Cameroon (CERAC), has earmarked 40 humanitarian projects and activities to carry out this year throughout the national territory. This was during the association’s 29th General Assembly meeting on Friday, January 13, 2023 in Yaounde. The Founding President of CERAC, First Lady, Chantal Biya, attended the meeting during which she spent a special moment with 20 kids from the Life of Grace Orphanage in Yaounde. She offered gifts to the kids.
Before the arrival of the First Lady at the event ground, the General Coordinator of CERAC, Dr Grace Dion Ngute, chaired the general assembly deliberations. She described it as an instance to strengthen the bonds of friendship and an opportunity to recall that members must look together in the same direction. By taking part in the assembly, Dr Grace Dion Ngute said, members were honouring their commitments to the association, which requires them among other things, to consult periodically and to evaluate the progress made in order to better prepare for the future. The gathering permitted members to discuss the way forward in order to optimise the operations and actions of the association. In an atmosphere of conviviality, members of CERAC voiced their opinions on the way forward in 2023. This was after the presentation of reports by various officials and commission heads. 
The 2022 programme of activities revealed that despite some difficulties, CERAC recorded a satisfactory execution rate of its plan of action which stands at 86 per cent. The report further revealed that eleven projects out of 12 in all the Regions were executed at 91.6 per cent. Also, out of the 24 activities from the different project commissions, four were put on hold. Three activities planned for the Centre Region were not carried out. Dr Grace Dion Ngute called on all members to pull their efforts together and work for the humanitarian activities that started since 1995.
