MTN Elite Two : Hegemony Struggle Hits High Gear

Aigle Moungo (17 points) and Foncha Street (15 points) who occupy the first and second positions in the standings, will have to battle it out in their respective day 10 outings today.

The first phase of the ongoing second division championship dubbed MTN Elite Two is gradually getting to an end with Day 10 matches programmed this Wednesday January 18, 2023 and Thursday January 19, 2023. In effect, five matches will be played today meanwhile just one will be played tomorrow.
With just two points separating Aigle Royal of Moungo that are first on the standings with 17 points and Foncha Street that are second with 15 points, anything can happen today. Leaders Aigle Moungo will move to Bertoua to meet Stade Bertoua meanwhile Foncha Street will meet fellow North West-based side Rangers Bafut in Bamenda in their day-10 meetings today. The two leading sides have all what it takes to come past their opponents but looking at the trend of affairs, their rivals will not let go easily. As for the Stade Bertoua- Aigle game, both sides are coming from a draw on match day nine and will all hope to grip victory. But the reality on paper is that, Aigle is a far better side than Stade Bertoua having won five matches so far as compared to the two for the Bertoua boys. The positive waves thus flow towards Aigle that will want to consolidate their hegemony even though upsets cannot be ruled out.
