Cameroon Volleyball Federation : Bello Bourdanne Elected President

He was voted during an Extra-ordinary GA held on January 20, 2023 in Yaounde. Meanwhile, the Abouem camp describes the meeting as illegal and announces national election on Feb 4.


The electoral process at the Cameroon Volleyball Federation spearheaded by 2/3 statutory members of the 2013 General Assembly has officially come to an end. This was after members of the Executive Bureau were voted in an extra-ordinary General Assembly on Friday January 20, 2023 at the conference hall of the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education in Yaounde. Bello Bourdanne was voted President of the Federation amassing 100 per cent votes. The other members of the bureau include First Vice-President, Elias Matip, Secretary General, Carole Ambatta and Head of the Finance Department, Samba Ngwana.
It should be said that the General Assembly took place under the supervision of the Independent Electoral Commission and was closed by Eric Binfon, representative of the Minister of Sports and Physical Education. In his maiden speech, the newly-elected President said, “We are turning a new page in Cameroonian volleyball; the page of reconciliation”. He promised to relaunch the championship, train trainers and create schools that will give a facelift to Cameroonian volleyball. The electoral process, according to stakeholders, began on January 9, 2023. This was after and extra-ordinary General Assembly was held by 2/3 of the statutory members of the 2013 General Assembly on Januery 4, 2023 to adopt a programme for the electoral process amongst several other issues.
