North West : SDF, UPC To Challenge CPDM

They deposited their lists of candidates with ELECAM on Saturday January 28,2023.

The Social Democratic Front (SDF) and the Union des Populations du Cameroun (UPC) will be putting to test the Cameroon People’s Democratic Party (CPDM) party in the North West by running for Senatorial election in the region. They deposited their lists of candidates with the divisional branch of Elections Cameroon (ELECAM) in Mezam on Saturday January 28,2023.
According to the UPC head of list, Gilbert Bame, the UPC aims to exploit the weaknesses of the SDF and CPDM Senators during the mandate which is ending. “More so, I decided to run because it is high time youths should get involved in politics and so far the UPC is fielding the youngest candidates and women in its list which was deposited in Yaoundé given that some members of the list had to establish their certificate of non-conviction in Yaoundé and complete the file. However, certificates of registration into the Electoral College were established by the ELECAM office in Bamenda,” he said.
The SDF list was deposited by the head of list, Vaniganssen Mochiggle, accompanied by list members at the ELECAM office in Bamenda. Quizzed on their chances of winning given that the CPDM has more Councillor...
