Humanitarian Assistance : IRC’s President Visits Cameroon

David Miliband was received in audience by Minister Felix Mbayu on January 26, 2023.

Within the context of enhancing humanitarian assistance in crisis-affected regions of the country, the President and Chief Executive Officer of the International Rescue Committee (IRC), David Miliband, was in Cameroon to meet with government officials on expanding cooperation mechanisms. He was granted audience by the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu, on January 26, 2023. During the audience, the President and Chief Executive Officer presented his institution to the Minister, their activities and prospects for Cameroon. 
Speaking to reporters after the audience, David Miliband said they provide humanitarian assistance to persons in difficulty, provoked by the crisis. “The International Rescue Committee is a global humanitarian organisation that helps meet the needs of men, women and children who are caught up in difficult situations in a conflict or disaster. We work in an independent way in Cameroon and eight other countries in West and Central Africa to try to help meet the needs that arise. We work in the Far North of Cameroon, as well as the North West and South West Regions of the country. And it is important that I meet the government, our staff, and some clients,” he stated.
