Promoting Bilingualism, Multiculturalism : Commission’s Chairperson Highlights 2023 Prospects

This was as he received New Year Wishes for the current year from his collaborators on January 27, 2023.


The Chairperson of the National Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism, Peter Mafany Musonge, has outlined main activities that will be carried out by the institution in the course of 2023. He presented the highlights and challenges to be surmounted as he received New Year Wishes from members and staff of the Commission on January 27, 2023. 
In his statement prior to the wishes, the Chairperson said the year has just started and they have many challenges to overcome. As a result, he called on them to redouble their efforts in the accomplishment of the vision of the Head of State in consolidating peace and national unity, which according to him are ingredients indispensable for Cameroon becoming an emergent nation, democratic and united in its diversity. “We need to intensify the fight against hate speech and xenophobia which according to the Head of State has caused distress to numerous families and often ruin lives,” Peter Mafany Musonge stated. He added that the Commission has to equally strengthen its evaluation mission and partnership with ministerial departments and public institutions to ensure the bilingual publication of administrative documents to the public. Focusing on the effective promotion of multiculturalism is equally another activity the Chairperson said was going to be carried out. He congratulated staff for the results registered but said they do not have to rely on pass glories but keep the records moving upwards.
