South West : Agricultural Equipment Distributed To Farmers

The Centre for Community Regeneration and Development (CCREAD-Cameroon), a non-profit organization operating across Cameroon with UN Special Consultative Status and a strategic partner of UNESCO, has organized training sessions on organic gardening, cassava processing and transformation. After the training session, beneficiaries representing some 17 villages and two Common Initiative Groups received equipment ranging from cassava processing machines, wheelbarrows, cutlasses, spraying machines, spraying canes, spades, and rain boots, amongst others worth over FCFA 8 million.
According to CCREAD-Cameroon's Team Leader, Dr Hilary Ewang Ngide, the material donations fall within the framework of their integrated livelihood promotion within rainforest communities across the South West Region of Cameroon. Dr Ngide further pleaded with all the beneficiaries that the materials should be used by everyone in the community in a very sustainable way. The organization additionally provided support to all beneficiaries for the transportation of the materials received to their various communities across Bangem Subdivision. 
The Mayor of Bangem Council, Nhon Christopher Ekungwe Kang lauded the initiative of CCREAD for assisting farmers whom he described as the most important in society for their role in producing food to feed the population....
