African Competitions: Mixed Results For Cameroonian Clubs

 Away leg preliminaries of the 2017 African Champions League and CAF Cup competitions took place last weekend across the continent.

Four Cameroonian clubs are in the race for titles in the different competitions organised by the African Football Confederation (CAF). They are Coton Sport of Garoua, UMS Loum, APEJES Mfou and YOSA.
In their first outing, Coton Sport of Garoua secured a resounding victory after beating Altabara FC of South Sudan 2-0 at the Stade Roumdé Adja in Garoua on Sunday February 12, 2017 in the away leg preliminaries of the African Champions League. It was the first success recorded by the club led by the new coach, Minkreo Birwe and a rather new team which is making a debut in the African Champions League. The goals were scored by Jean Joseph Kombous at the 12th minute and Georges Bellamo 89th minute. Following victory, Coton Sport have secured a comfortable position on the league table while waiting for the return leg which will take place in Djuba, South Sudan on February 18, 2017. In order to progress in the competition, coach Minkreo will have to work hard with his team to maintain the lead.
On their part, Champions of Cameroon, UMS Loum, lost to AC Leopard Dolisie 0-1 in Congo the same day. Many fans believe the defeat is temporary as there are still hopes of turn...
