Anniversaire du chef de l'Etat: Exotic Celebration In Yaounde

Thousands of youths from across the country converged on the Conference Centre yesterday February 13, 2017 to commemorate the President’s anniversary.

“Mr. President of the Republic, Cameroonian youth wishes you a joyous anniversary,” this was the message on one of the banners that flew high in the 1500-capacity hall of the Yaounde Conference Centre as over 2,000 youths drawn from all walks of life from the ten regions of the country came together in unison to celebrate the 84th birthday of the President of the Republic, Paul Biya. Different speeches from the youths associations, movements and students pronounced during the event that witnessed the presence of the Minister, Secretary General at the Presidency, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh, representing President Biya and a host of Cabinet Ministers and the Secretary General of the Central Committee of the ruling CPDM party, Jean Nkuete, the youth expressed their profound gratitude to President Biya whom they called the father of the nation, their champion, for his constant attention to the youth.
Be it the President of the YCPDM for Mfoundi II, the President of the National Youth Council, Jean Marc Afesi Mbafor amongst other youth orators, the Cameroonian youth thanked the Head of State for placing their present and future at the centre of his preoccupation such as the announced donation of 500,000 laptop computers to university students and the FCFA 102 billion worth Three-year Special Youth Emergency Plan amongst others. A special birthday message from the students of State and private higher institutions read in English and French hailed the President’s determination to consolidate national unity, harmonious living together, preservation of peace and economic development as he stirs the country towards emergence. They thus pledged their unflinching support to the republican ideals of the President and his resolve to annihilate the nebulous terrorist sect, Boko Haram.
The Minister, Secretary-General at the Presidency, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh told the youth that President Paul Biya has confidence in them and reminded them of his 11 February address to the youth urging the youth to be the stars to light up Cameroon.
