Selected players are progressively arriving camp to polish up ahead of the competition which runs from February 17-23, 2023 in New-Zealand.

The first group of selected Indomitable Lionesses who left Cameroon on January 30, 2023 arrived Auckland, New Zealand on February 1, 2023. Lodged at the Hilton Hotel, the players had some rest before entering into business. That is, acquiring the skills that will permit them pick one of the last three spots in the 2023 Women’s World Cup through the Intercontinental playoffs which runs from February 17-23 in New Zealand. They had their first training session on Thursday, February 2, 2023 under the leadership of coach Gabriel Zabo. Since then, they have been on their heels as they await the arrival of foreign-based players who are gradually being liberated by their clubs.
Three Lionesses plying their trade in France reportedly left their respective clubs on Sunday February 5, 2023 to join their teammates, to battle for the ticket for their 3rd consecutive World Cup, after 2015 and 2019. They are Monique Ngock (Stade Reims), Charlène Meyong (Stade Reims) and Falone Meffometou (FC Fleury)
At the same time, one of Cameroon’s finest attackers, Njoya Ajara scored the first goal for Inter Milan in the club’s 3-0 win over Sasuolo on match day 16 of the Serie A Italian championship over the weekend. Even though some of the players might be arriving late, it is good news for coach Gabriel Zabo Toze who will need players with enough matches on their feet to achieve a good performance.
