North West Region : Two Parties, Nine New Faces

The SDF and CPDM will be competing for seats in the Senate in the region.

Basically, electors of the North West Region have two choices before them; the Social Democratic Front (SDF) and the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM). These are the two parties in which the nomination papers of their candidates were validated by Elections Cameroon. That said, the two parties present new faces on their various lists, as compared to 2018 candidates. Both lists have nine new candidates out of the 14 candidates presented for the election with a vast majority coming from the CPDM
At the SDF, there are three new candidates and they are Amboufei Diana Engenembe, a lady who has been in the party since its creation and has practiced her political career in the North West Region for decades; Bunyui Emmanuel Nyugab, former Mayor of the Ndu Council and Mafogho Inusa Petiangma, District Chairperson of SDF Bamissing. Party officials justify their candidacy on the fact that they are old members of the party, master the political landscape and have experience in leading the SDF list to victory in the region.
