Buea : Euphoria Returns At Youth Day Celebration

Primary Schools took part in the march-past for the first time since 2017.

When the feet of pupils of Government Primary School Buea Town hit the tarmac of Bongo Square Ceremonial Ground at 10:45 am on February 11, 2023, with the arms swinging and face up, the population rose to their feet, cheered and ululated. They were followed by 18 other primary schools belonging to the State, Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, Moslem Community and lay private that were given a standing ovation. The pupils sang love for fatherland and pledged their allegiance to republican institutions and their values. 
It was a dream come true as many primary school pupils have not tested the beauty of Youth Day celebrations since the unset of the sociopolitical upheavals that have perturbed life in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon since 2016. In Buea, primary schools lastly participated in Youth Day celebration in 2017. The primary schools were followed by those of secondary and higher institutions of learnings counting not less than 70 institutions.
