International Security : INTERPOL President Lauds Africa’s Contribution

Major General Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi rounded off a two-day official visit in Cameroon over the weekend.

The President of the International Criminal Police Organisation dubbed INTERPOL, Major General Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi on Friday, February 17, 2023 in Yaounde lauded the contributions of African countries to the functioning of the organisation. He was speaking to the press after a video conference with heads of INTERPOL National Central Bureau in Central Africa. Upon his arrival in Cameroon on Thursday February 16, 2023, he was received at the Nsimalen International Airport by the Delegate General for National Security, Martin Mbarga Nguele.
Major General Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi says Africa is important and cannot be left behind in global security given that they are also major contributors in the organisation and functioning of INTERPOL. He said there is the need to work together for a safer Africa region and world at large. After visiting three regional bureau of INTERPOL in Africa amongst which Zimbabwe, Nairobi and Côte l’voire, Major General Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi said it was his first tour as the president of the organisation and he was putting Africa top on his security priority. The INTERPOL President used his visit to thank the government of Cameroon for working very closely with the organisation to fight against crime and dismantle organised criminal networks worldwide.
